Certified Associate - Cards & Payments

The payments industry is the lifeblood of the global economy, facilitating trillions of dollars through the banking system every day. Participants include all financial institutions involved in payment processing such as banks, non-banking financial institutions, and others. In the last decade, the industry has seen major innovation, powered by technology, across real-time domestic and cross-border payments.

 

Skill Board Professional Certification in Cards & Payments evaluates candidates for fundamental knowledge of real-time payments, domestic and cross-border payments, SWIFT, card and mobile payments, and the necessary skills to resolve common problems in operations and technology enabling money movement. The assessment is conducted through an online remote proctored test.

 

Candidates can choose between two certification options:

 

  • Certified Business Operations Associate (CBOA) - Cards & Payments certification is issued to candidates with 1+ years of experience in the banking & FinTech sectors and successfully passes the assessment for the CBOA certification.

 

  • Certified Business Technology Associate (CBTA) - Cards & Payments certification is issued to candidates with 1+ years of career experience in technology applications supporting payments processing and successfully passing the assessment for the CBTA certification.

Who should get certified

  • Understanding of modern payments platforms and offerings from FinTech firms.
     
Maintaining the certification
  • Certified Associates are required to recertify after 3 years, either by taking a recertification assessment or through continuing education credits.
  • Continuing education credits may be earned by taking industry certifications, participating in industry conferences, including professional presentations, and writing industry thought papers published on skillboard.org or other online forums.
